Dracaena, dracaena marginata or dracaena with a thin leaf is a phanerogam of the Ruscaceae family, originally from Madagascar. It is a shrub, with one or several trunks, slow growing, which can eventually reach up to 5 m in height. Its leaves are linear to lanceolate, between 30 to 90 cm long and 2 to 7 cm wide, with a dark red margin to which it owes its name.
It requires a minimum temperature of 15 ° C, and it is more tolerant than most plants to dry soil and irregular irrigation. It is important not to irrigate excessively, wait for the soil to dry to do so.
It supports almost light conditions, so it grows equally close to a window with a lot of light than in less illuminated corners, although the red of the edges becomes more vivid with direct exposure to the sun.
It can be attacked by cochineal and red spiders, to prevent it, spray water on its leaves so they are moist or use our GreenTop against insects and mites.
